General Meeting of the Villages Woodshop Club

Meeting called to order at 7:00PM
Mike Borfitz, President, lead the pledge of allegiance with a moment of silence and an offering of prayers and thought for those in our club membership and their families
Introduction of new members and guests – New members and visitors were welcomed and asked to introduce and tell a little about themselves.
Mikes’s Announcements:
· Mike thanked everyone for the good job that was done on clean up day.
· The health department was pleased with the doll house which they used to show where falls typically take place in a house.
· Exotic wood will be offered for sale after the meeting.
General Announcements:
· The new electronic check in system for the side doors was explained by Bill Pappas via a slide show.
· 4” face plates are not being returned. Members will have to go to the tool crib and fill out a VWC 4 form in order to take a 4” face place.
· Screws guns are not being used properly. Members need to turn the torque dial down so as not to strip screws or bits.
· The 60-volt battery in tool crib is being used by turners for their drills. This is not the proper battery to use as their drills only require a 20-volt battery.
Open floor to questions:
· Schedule for the CNC. Jerry Leinsing will teach a class which will take place over 3 days for 2 hours each day. Cost of the manual will be about $50. Fill out a card if you wish to take the class.
Show and tell –
· Steve Yovan showed a bowl he turned which was finished with Tung oil.
· Frank showed pepper mills he turned, one of which was in the shape of a fire hydrant.
· Judy Meyers made a doll house in the shape of a general store.
· Brady Placek showed a dragon plaque and musical instrument.
· John Herega showed some turning he did from marble wood.
50/50 Drawing: The club took in $135 dollars and retained $70.00. Prizes were - $20, $20, $15 and $10.
