Board of Directors Meeting

April 25, 2019

 

Call to Order

A board of directors meeting of The Village Woodshop was held on April 25, 2019 at 704 Oak Street, The Villages, Florida.  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM and was presided over by Mike Cromwell, Chairman. A quorum was met and established.

Glenn Croteau, Harm Borfitz, Mike Cromwell, John Scott, Judi Meyers, John Warner, Stephan Yovan, Bob Bell, Alvin Corenblum

Approval of Previous Minutes

·         Motion to approve the minutes of the previous March 28, 2019 meeting was made by, Harm Borfitz and seconded by, Judi Meyers and unanimously approved by all with any additions and/or corrections

 

Officers’ Reports

Chairman Report was presented by Mike Cromwell:

·          A resolution to admit 20 new members each month will automatically continue was presented by John Scott and seconded by John Warner and unanimously approved by all.

·         Distribution of Board of Directors Minutes will be continued until the next meeting.

 

President’s Report was presented by Mike Borfitz.

·         Second shop issues were discussed

 

Vice President Report was presented by Jim Spallone

·         No report.

 

Treasure Report Presented by Doug Parks

·         Presented Balance Sheets (See Hand Out)

·         Motion to approve the treasure’s report was made by Judi Meyers and seconded by Harm Borfitz and unanimously approved by all.

 

Shop Administrator Presented by Glenn Croteau

·         A motion to retile the bathroom floors, repaint the wall, and repair the ceilings at a cost of $2,193 was presented by Harm Borfitz and seconded by Judi Meyer, the motion was carried unanimously.

 

Safety Committee Report

·         Nothing Significant.

 

Other Reports

·         A motion was proposed in order to receive an exemption for monitor duty a member would be required to put in a minimum of 36 hours of service per year. All nonexempt members will be required to put in 24 hours of monitor duty (6 four-hour shifts) per year starting in 2020.  There was a motion by Harm Borfitz to accept the motion and it was second by Judi Meyers with a majority voting in the affirmative.
