Intro to Lumber Ops

LUMBER: Gary Muratore

The Rolling Acres woodshed is currently undergoing a major reorganization. Once it is completed, it will officially be called “The Board Room.” It should be completed shortly, thanks to the hard work of Scott Herlic, Paul Laughlin and Pat Toovey.

Many thanks to Dave Gessner for the use of his truck to personally deliver a load of exotic hard woods to us. We are expecting to receive more inventory within the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for additional selections. Also, we now have a limited quantity of oak boards, 12+ inches wide, that have been properly glued up and are available for sale.

Lastly, we will have a lumber representative at the Rolling Acres Woodshop most days between 11:00 and 3:00 to assist members with lumber purchases and to answer any questions. We will post the representative’s name and availability where members can easily see it. This way, everyone will know who is available to help with lumber and when. We are working on various ways to make it easier to identify the lumber representative.

Lumber Ordering and Storage

Our lumber operations manager and his assistants will serve your needs for lumber of any type thickness and length.  We stock the most common wood species and thicknesses for immediate use by our members.  For lumber in stock, simply get in touch with any of the Lumber Team.

However, members can order lumber by contacting the Front Desk and completing an order form.  You will need to pay for any lumber you order at the time of delivery.

The only restriction on ordering lumber is that we will not stock nor order Pressure Treated lumber. Only lumber NOT treated with green cyanide salts is permitted in the shop.  You can use lumber such as "Yellow Wood" in the shop.
