Proposal
It is proposed to make a change in the
current policy. The previous policy of the VWC is that the use of the VWC facilities shall be only for the
member’s recreational purposes and
disposal of projects. It is proposed
that we made a slight change to this accommodate member’s creative talents and
to generate funds for club operational expenses.
If approved, the new policy will allow for
a project classification of Member Projects. The new Member Projects is that
members may seek to have projects, made by the member, displayed in the office
display cases for donations. Any
individual (both members and visitors) may then make a donation for projects that are displayed. By
making a donation to the VWC individual will then receive a project made using
VWC facilities.
The member will affix a recommended donation
amount to the object, just organizations do, but must be willing to
accept any “reasonable” donation. The
craftsman must split the donation
with the VWC, with a minimum
of 40% to the VWC. This member’s with a process to recover at least part of the cost of materials in
the project.
The VWC will not attached any type
of member identification to the projects being displayed, if members identity themselves on the project then and
only then will their identity be known.
This
policy change pertains to any project or undertaking which makes use
of equipment and facilities for
creating the project. If a member wishes to dispose of any project other than
giving it away then this procedure will be used.
Each member shall have a limited number of
projects that can be displayed for donations at any given time.
Projects offered for display shall have a maximum availability for
display of 8 weeks and then cannot be
resubmitted for a minimum of 8 weeks.
Example:
Object
Price = $25.00 Donation % =
VWC
would receive $10(40%) & member would receive $15 (60%)
O
Object
Price = $25.00 Donation % =
VWC
would receive $15 (60%) & member would receive $10
The accounting of monies for these sales
will be provided by the Project Sales Team.
Every displayed item will have a
price tag linked to the “Request to
Display” form item number. The front
desk personnel will be asked to make the project available to the customer and
to collect the money and record it on the
DFR, under Account 4077 –no sales tax is to be recorded as the monies are a donation. Only funds
from Account 4077 can be used to reimburse members for the cost of
materials in a project. The donation tag
will then be placed in a box. The tags in this
box will be picked up once a month by the Project Sales Team to assist in the
generation of report(s) to the BOD and
the Treasurer.
